Every little bit helps

I used to be skeptical about how much energy saving you could get by putting the shrink wrap plastic over the windows. Well, after our first winter in the house, I was sold--it really did make a difference. Let me present Exhibit A--two of our kitchen windows:

The window on the left--just the bare sashes. No storm window, no plastic shrink wrap.

Look at all that morning condensation. Mega heat loss through that puppy.

Now, look at the window on the right:

Same type of sashes, but this puppy's got the plastic over them. HUGE difference!

So until we figure out whether we're going to add storms or do window replacement, I'm all for the plastic and the hair dryer!
